Forensic Science
High School – Grade Level 9-12 – SINGLE – semester course – may be paired with Health for High School
Cost of class: $425 per semester*
*See Locations and Schedules for possible additional Student Fees that may be added to your classes which are often payable with charter funds.
This class may be paired with Health For High School. You will need to register for Forensic Science 1st Semester & also register for Health For High School 2nd Semester. You will need to register for BOTH individually. You may also choose to register for this one-semester class by itself for 1st or 2nd Semester.
Note: Lab supplies will be provided when students are In-Person for class.Â
Students in this class will study the science of crime scene investigation. This course will include a focus on careers related to crime scene investigation.
The class will include topics such as:
- Scene of the crime
- Evidence
- Blood splatter patterns
- Blood factors
- Forgery
- Autopsy
- Forensic entomology
- Botany and
- Odontology
Class meets weekly for 1.5 hours (45 minutes of lecture and 45 minutes of hands-on lab time). Weekly homework assignments from the textbook and lab paperwork will be completed by students at home. Tests will be taken online at home and will be administered by a parent/guardian.Â
